2009 BET Awards

First off, we all know the show was immediately switched to pay homage to Michael Jackson, and with that said, celebrities came out last night in all their MJ inspired looks.
But lets start with the red carpet.

Beyoncé was so divine in one of Balmain's Spring 2009 pieces. And did you all she her shoes? The sexy peep-toe stilettos are from Christian Dior's 2009 Resort Collection. I don't believe any other woman would have been able to rock those stilettos like Beyoncé.

Letoya Luckett was also in Balmain, but for some reason, the shoes through the entire look off! Needless to say, Letoya is still behind Beyonce; her [Letoya] dress was from Balmain's Fall 2008 Collection. But I mean, she was cute, and the dress was cute, but OMG...seriously? She had to put those Alejandro Ingelmo clunky clown shoes?

Now, Beyonce was cute, BUUUTTTT, Tyra Banks was phenomenal! Wearing some simply satin skinny legs slacks, cute vest, and simple silk blouse was perfection!

That's about all I can do right now...I'm doing some work but I will be adding more pictures and bad talking more celebrities shortly.

A Few Things...

HELLLLLOOOOOOOOO everyone! It's been about a week since I've posted something and I felt a little bad...not really...lol! Anywho, I would like to start off with a couple of things:

1. I live in Houston where it is about 103 degrees during the day, and I've seen quite a few ladies wearing spring/summer scarves!! Umm, NO MA'AM!!! IT IS TOO HOT IN HOUSTON TO WEAR THAT!! I could see if you (talking to the ladies) were living in New York were the temperature gets to seventy-something degrees. Or you could be in California, but that would only be at night; the weather at night in Cali is amazing! Back to my complaint: during the summer in Houston is the wrong time to wear scarves. That might be a trend in certain parts of the US, but it is definitely not a trend in Houston!!

2. Isabel Toledo
An amazing woman has cranked out fashion for 24 years and with all that hard work, an exhibition has been created with her pieces in the Museum at FIT. The exhibition has seventy...yes 7 0...pieces. Two of them were worn by Mrs. Obama for the inaguration; a divine coat and dress in acid-yellow winter lace.

What makes me love Toledo's work is,she does not fixate her mind on who's going to be wearing her clothes, meaning what celebrity will be in it, but more of the art of designing clothes. She's mention that, “It’s not who’s wearing your dress,” she explained. “That’s the easiest way to describe your work.” Instead, Toledo and husband/collaborator Ruben, used thematically based categories like origami or manipulated surfaces to curate the collection.

3.  I have nothing for number three lol lol !  Sorry!!

Beyoncé

BeyoncéBeyoncéBeyoncé. That's all I can say!
This woman is always on point! Look at her Louis Vuitton heels (in the first photo)!! OMG!! This is not the first time she has worn them, but for some reason, they look so much better this time. I guess its because of the jumpsuit!  She can even be dressed very casual; I'm talking about jeans a t-shirt casual, and still look good!

And the Oscar Goes To...

...the Oscar de la Renta!!  This man has done it once again!!  His Resort 2010 Collection is by far my favorite for next year! besides the color choices and fabrics, the construction of the garments were just A M A Z I N G!!!
I'm sorry, but Mr. De la Renta tops any other designer when it comes to gowns and the ready-to-wear garments for a woman!  And that is my opinion!!

De la Renta has been in the game [fashion industry] for quite some time, and this is by far his best work yet!!  If there is one designer I could work under, learn from, and be mentored from, it would definitely have to be him.  He is the definition of basic | couture!

Resort 2010 - Posen, 3.1 Phillip Lim, & Others

Ok, so the summer is here, BUT we must look into fall right now.
BUT (once again) the Resort lines for 2010 have begun to be displayed by some designers like Zac Posen, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Chanel, Corlina Herrera, and a few others.

What I've noticed is that a lot of the forties look; mainly from Posen, is coming back, along with bright colored prints, jersey  fabric, draping of the fabric, polka dots and metallics will be in for 2010. Ms. Herrera stuck with one main color; orange, while Chanel went all out!

I should also mention that Chanel is the only line that has 77 pieces for the Resort line for 2010! Gotta love them!!

Take a Peak!

Zac Posen

3.1 Phillip Lim

Chanel

(This last Chanel look is my FAVORITE! Its being modeled by Queeny Van der Zande)

Lagerfeld & Chanel Finally Depart - NOT HAPPENING!!

AS YOU CAN SEE, I HAD AN ENTIRE POST DEDICATED TO KARL LAGERFELD'S DEPATURE FROM CHANEL, BUT IT WAS ALL A RUMOR THANKS TO DIANE PERNET. SHE REPORTED THAT HE WAS LEAVING DUE TO HIM NOT RENEWING HIS CONTRACT WITH CHANEL.

TO MAKE IT SHORT AND SWEET......KARL LAGERFELD IS NOT LEAVING CHANEL! THANK GOD!!

It is official!!
Karl Lagerfeld is officially leaving Chanel after 26 years of couture and ready-to-wear designs that made their way from the catwalk, to the clothing racks and then onto the bodies of many individuals around the world.

It is extremely sad to see such a powerful and creative individual leave a well-known line such as Chanel. Now, Lagerfeld won't be shut out of the fashion world because he has some of his lines to fall back on like K Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi, Chloe and a few others.

Brief History...
Karl Lagerfeld started off working for Balmain in 1955. After three years there, he moved to Jean Patou, where he designed two haute couture collections for the next five years. He later launched himself as a freelance designer after working for Patou in 1962. In 1964, he began to design for Chloe; a French fashion house.
After eight years with Chloe, Karl went to Fendi and designer furs, clothing and accessories.
He would later find himself doing a lot of freelance designing and haute couture costumes for theatrical productions beginning in 1972. After almost ten years of freelance work, he found his spot at Chanel in 1983.

Karl Lagerfeld is a fashion ICON! There is nothing more that needs to be said about this gentleman!
He has changed the way people look at the little black dress [mainly in Chanel's line], furs and the small accessories.

Now this message is for the next designer to take Lagerfield's spot; Albert Elbaz, please be on point! It is going to be extremely difficult to top and to continue to legacy that Coco Chanel started and what Karl Lagerfeld continued!

CLOG or NOT TO CLOG??

First off, clogs are probably the most horrendous shoes ever created on the face of this earth!

Mario Betalli made them extremely popular when he started to flaunt them on the red carpet. "Which red carpet?" is the question you might be asking, and my answer to that is, "I don't know." Anywho, clogs have been so popular, even children are wearing them.

Now, I've heard that they are extremely comfortable. I don't have a pair so I cannot testify to that. But hey, if they are, then that cool.

Back to my complaint.

Imagine this (make the little ripple effect...lol), a clog....................but its above the knee. Keep imagining..................If you are thinking of a wooden sole and the rest is some type of leather or plastic, then dammit, you are correct!!!

Isn't that the most HORRIFIC idea you have ever heard or seen?? Well, at least in the fashion industry?! I am a little puzzled as to why they would even come out with such a shoe.

Paris is Poor

No I am not talking about Paris Hilton, by the way is a spoiled bitch! Anywho, the city, Paris, France is exactly $9.2 million poorer. It all happened after a jewelry heist this weekend at the Chopard Boutique on Place Vendôme.
Many celebrities wear Chopard's expensive jewelry from Usher, Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, Jessica Simpson, Madonna, Elton John, and a few others.
Damn, it's funny how one man was able to steel jewelry worth $9.2 million without anyone noticing!
Please understand that the photos above are not pieces that were stolen!
